Cyber Briefing Vol. 1 No. 1 Date: July 15, 1995 To: Pro-Family Citizens & Leaders From: Mark Tolf, dasein3619@aol.com Welcome to the first issue of Cyber Briefing, which will be updated on a frequent basis (meaning, whenever I have the time!). Watch this library for updates! Cyber Briefing will keep us up-to-date on Internet sites that are related to our concerns about the traditional family. Some of the sites represent our concerns about the traditional family, some do not. Sites are listed because of their informational value. You may wish to monitor some sites in order to see what some organizations are doing or publishing. You may even find some of the sites to be humorous. You will have to be the judge. I also want Cyber Briefing to be a forum for you. If you know of an Internet site that would be of interest to others who are concerned about the traditional family and our values, contact me via e-mail. I will put it in Cyber Briefing. There are a wide range of sites that are valuable (health, children, government, culture, etc...) Don't forget one of the most important topics: humor! Get ready for a journey into who-knows-where. Keep in mind the usual caveats about the Internet and the information on it (see the beautiful disclaimers at the end of the document). Sites are not listed in any order. 1. Feminists for Free Expression: http://gopher.igc.apc/11/orgs/alternet/ffe. 2. Family Research Council: http://www.frc.org. Will be up and running in the fall. 3. Association for Experiential Education: http://www.princeton.edu/~rcurtis/aee.html. 4. Heritage Foundation "Town Hall:" http://www.townhall.com. 5. Christian Coalition: http://www.infi.net/cc. 6. Coalition for Positive Sexuality (CPS): http://www.webcom.com/~azalea/CPS/CPS.html. CPS is the group that distributed some "safe sex" guides ("Just Say Yes") to Chicago kids. You can download "Just Say Yes" at this site, but be warned: the guide is not for the faint of heart. See what some school kids are learning about sex! 7. Children, Youth and Family Issues: gopher://gopher-cyfernet.mes.umn.edu:4242/. A goldmine of information you can't afford to be without. 8. NRA (National Rifle Association): http://www.nra.org. Find out about the most loved and most hated organization going. 9. Mother Jones Magazine: http://www.mojones.com/motherjones.html. One of the most prominent liberal magazines. 10. National Gay and Lesbian Task Force: http://www.cyberzine.org/html/glaids/orgs/ngltf/ngltfpage.html. 11. Thomas. Link to U.S. capitol, bills, etc... : http://thomas.loc.gov/. 12. Supreme Court decisions. Searchable: http://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/. 13. The Safer Sex Page: http://www.cmpharm.ucsf.edu/~troyer/safesex.html. Please observe that the preferred term is now "safer" sex . . . not "safe" sex. - - -After visiting some of these sites, you will need some time to recover. This issue's resting spot is The Complete Works of Shakespeare: http://the-tech.mit.edu/Shakespeare/works.html. Relax! Keep the faith. I will see you again in the next issue! Notes: Cyber Briefing reports on Internet sites that are of interest to pro-family citizens and leaders. Cyber Briefing lists a wide variety of sites. Some sites share our concerns about traditional families, others do not. Sites are listed for their informational value. URL's, submissions and comments should be sent to Mark Tolf, dasein3619@aol.com. The usual caveats about Internet sites apply here. Remember, some sites are unreliable, unpredictable and undependable. Special thanks to ellery.july@tclbbs.com for the monthly listing of non-profit sites, some of which were cited here.
